Wonder what the term "Carat" means is simply means the weight of the diamond.
By definition, 1 carat is exactly 200 milligrams.
Since most diamonds sold in the jewelry industry weigh less than 1 carat, the carat is usually subdivided into "points." There are 100 points in 1 carat, so that a diamond weighing 3/4 carat would be a "75 point diamond."
In summary:
1 carat = 200 milligrams = 100 points
This issue came to mind when i was thinking about saving money when having a gf... which i think all guys have an issue with. what u guys can tell your gf about saving money is, u tell her u intend to get a 24 carat diamond ring from tiffany & Co for her for her wedding band. So whatever she is using and spending off you will eat into that diamond ring.....everytime you go out with her..... the meals.. the movie tickets.....and any other stuff that u spend and buy for her will be deducted from the " main contract sum" thus... in the end, what is left of the "budget" will be wat she get..... if she is a spendthift... think her wedding band will be those pasamalam purchased cheapo ring... if she is a wise and thrifty girl... she most probably get her diamond ring!
